Sedrick Watkins is a retired United States Navy veteran, author, storyteller, and advocate whose life has been shaped by service, resilience, and perseverance. During his military career, he proudly served his country, including support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).
Following his military service, Sedrick faced significant medical challenges that inspired him to embrace a new mission—encouraging others through storytelling. His books reflect the values that have guided his life: courage, family, hope, determination, and the belief that challenges can become opportunities for growth.
As the creator of the Tucker Tiger Cub series, Sedrick writes stories that help children understand family connections, military life, friendship, bravery, and the importance of never giving up. Through memorable characters and heartfelt adventures, he hopes to inspire young readers to face life's challenges with confidence and compassion.
Today, Sedrick continues to share stories that celebrate service, resilience, imagination, and the enduring power of family.

Cal Bryant is the children's pen name of Sedrick Watkins, a retired U.S. Navy veteran, author, and storyteller. Through the Juve the Turkey series, Sedrick creates fun, engaging educational adventures that help young readers build confidence while learning.
Created to make learning exciting and memorable, Juve the Turkey introduces children to letters, numbers, colors, shapes, seasons, and other early learning concepts through music, movement, imagination, and play. Each story encourages curiosity, creativity, kindness, and a love of learning.
As Cal Bryant, Sedrick combines his passion for family, education, and storytelling to create books that inspire children to explore the world around them while developing important life and learning skills.
